Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or ask us for a quote, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. B W&D LTD trades as Bridgfords Windows & Doors and is the data controller for that information.

02The information we collect
When you fill in our quote or contact form, we collect the details you give us. That is your name and email address, and where you choose to add them, your phone number, your postcode and what you are enquiring about, along with anything you write in the message box.
If you phone or email us instead, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation.
When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics also record limited technical information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, so we can keep the site running and see how it is used.
03How we use your information
We use the details you give us to reply to your enquiry, arrange a home visit and survey, prepare and send you a written quote, and carry out any work you go on to order.
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are:
- Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, when you send an enquiry or ask us for a quote
- Performance of a contract, once you go ahead with the work
- Legitimate interests, for replying to enquiries, keeping the site secure and filtering obvious spam out of the form
- Consent, for the optional analytics cookies described below
04Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually use. It runs on every page, but it starts with cookies switched off, so nothing is stored on your device until you choose Accept in the banner. Google still receives an anonymous, cookieless signal in the meantime, which tells us roughly how busy the site is without identifying you.
If you accept, these cookies are set:
- _ga, set by Google Analytics to tell one visitor from another. It expires after 2 years.
- _ga_ followed by a site code, set by Google Analytics to track a single visit. It expires after 2 years.
- Your cookie choice itself, remembered in your browser for 6 months, after which we ask again.
05Changing your mind about cookies
Choosing "No thanks" stores nothing and deletes any Google Analytics cookies already in your browser. You can change your answer at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page, or block cookies in your browser settings.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not build a profile of you.
06Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that keep the site running and let us reply to you, and they act on our instructions. Those are:
- Our website host, which also runs the site's analytics
- Our database provider, which stores enquiries so we can see them in one place
- Our email delivery provider, which sends your enquiry through to us
- Google Analytics, for the site statistics described above, and only where you have accepted
- WAT Websites, who built and maintain this site and may see enquiries while doing technical support
07Information sent outside the UK
Some of those providers process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision covering the country concerned.
08How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to 2 years from the date you contact us, so we can deal with the enquiry and any follow-up. Anything our filters flag as spam is deleted within 90 days.
Where you become a customer, we keep records of the work for 10 years afterwards. That is not us hoarding it: your guarantee runs for 10 years and we need the survey, order and installation records to honour it. Invoices and other accounting records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Enquiries that do not go anywhere are deleted at the end of the 2 years.
09Keeping it secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. It is held on secure, access-controlled systems, and only the people who need it can see it.
10Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Have it corrected if it is wrong
- Have it deleted
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Receive the information you gave us in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, including for cookies via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office
11How to exercise those rights
Email us at info@bridgfordswindows.co.uk or call 0115 822 4398 and tell us what you want us to do. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business or the website changes. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
