Reviews
What our customers say
“We recently had a new composite front door installed by Bridgfords Windows & Doors at our home in Ruddington, and we're delighted with the result. From the initial survey through to the installation, the whole process was straightforward, professional, and well organised.
“Bridgfords Windows & Door recently replaced all the uPVC windows and fitted a new composite front door at my home in Ruddington. The communication and service was excellent from start to finish, the installation team were punctual and tidy, and the workmanship was first class. I'm delighted with the quality and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for new windows or doors in Nottingham area.”
“The whole process of buying windows from Bridgford Windows and Doors was efficient and professional. An engineer came out, he was excellent and clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. He gave us technical advice regarding the door opening, lintels, glass types, etc., which enabled us to choose what we wanted. All the work was carried out efficiently to a very high standard, and it was clear that these are experienced tradesmen. We are grateful for the care that they took in our home. The windows are solid and of excellent quality, as was the workmanship involved with the installation. The windows make such a difference, both inside and outside the home. Overall, our experience with Bridgford Windows and Doors was very pleasing.”

Common questions
Asked and
answered
The things people ask us most before booking a home visit. If yours is not here, just ring and ask.
How much does double glazing cost?
It depends on the size and number of windows, the frame material and the glass you pick, so any price quoted before someone has measured up is guesswork. We come out, measure properly and leave a clear written quote with the frames, the glass and the price all set out. There is no showroom to pay for and no commission-led salesman in the mix, which keeps our prices keen, and the visit is free with no obligation.
How much does a composite front door cost?
The price moves with the size of the opening, the glass and hardware you choose, and whether you need side panels or a fanlight above. Rather than guess at it, we measure your opening on a free home visit and put a written price in front of you, with the door, the fitting and the guarantee all included in the figure.
What is a composite door?
A composite door layers a solid insulated core with a tough, colour-through GRP skin. That makes it warmer, more secure and far more stable than a timber or early uPVC door: it will not warp, and it keeps its colour without repainting. Ours are built to order with multi-point locking and anti-snap cylinders as standard.
Why is there condensation in my double glazing?
It depends where the condensation is. On the inside face of the glass it is usually humidity and ventilation in the room rather than a fault with the window. Between the two panes it means the seal on that unit has failed, and it cannot be dried out, so the unit needs replacing. If you are not sure which you have got, get us out for a free look and we will tell you straight.
How long should double glazing last?
A well-made sealed unit should give you twenty years or more, and good frames longer again. It is nearly always the seal that goes first, which is what causes the misting between the panes. Every job we fit carries a 10 year guarantee, insurance-backed for the same 10 years.
Can you paint uPVC windows or composite doors?
You can, with a specialist paint, but it rarely wears as well as the original finish and it can affect your guarantee. It is almost always better to choose the colour from new. Our uPVC comes in white, cream, grey, anthracite and woodgrain foils, and aluminium can be any RAL shade you like.
What are trickle vents and do I need them?
A trickle vent is a slim vent in the top of the frame that lets a little air through with the window shut, which keeps condensation and damp down. Since the ventilation rules changed in 2022 most replacement windows need them, and certainly if your existing windows already have them. We will tell you exactly what your job needs when we measure up.
Do replacement windows need building regulations approval?
Yes. Replacement windows and doors have to meet current building regulations for thermal performance, ventilation and safety glazing, and the work has to be signed off. We arrange that sign-off as part of the job and hand you the paperwork at the end, so it is not something you need to chase.
What guarantee do I get?
Every job carries a full 10 year guarantee from us on the windows, the doors and the workmanship that went into fitting them. On top of that comes a 10 year insurance-backed guarantee, so your cover stands even if anything happens to the company.
Do you cover my area?
We are based in West Bridgford and fit across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, taking in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Loughborough, Oakham and the towns and villages between. Ring us with your postcode and we will tell you straight whether we reach you.
